There are 3 kit options: Just Wool & Instructions, Kit with Foam Surface, or Kit with Wool Surface. Wool & Instructions are a wonderful choice if you want to make more than one kit and/or already have a felting surface. A foam surface/ block is a great choice when purchasing as a gift. The wool surface is much longer lasting and is perfect for the felting enthusiast!
